Health care workers offer an important service to the public. They help treat injured and sick individuals as well as administer vaccines to prevent illnesses. In the course of discharging their duties, however, health care workers are often exposed to a wide range of risks. Therefore, there is need to protect health care workers to ensure they not only discharge their duties effectively, but also remain safe. Health care workers should be given personal protective gear/equipment. This includes an ample supply of gloves and face masks. They should also have easy access to vaccines and medication for their own use when they get injured or infected with an illness.
