AFSS certification is the Annual Fire Safety Statement and is a documentary requirement for building owners for both commercial and residential projects. Usually, the local council of the area asks for these documents once a year. Insurance agencies will also require these documents if you are planning to get building insurance to protect your assets. Even at the time of raising an insurance claim due to fire damages, you will have to show the record of AFSS certifications, especially the latest one. These types of certifications are comparable to your vehicle inspection that takes place at the time of auto registration.
The local councils set a deadline for the submission of these reports along with some grace period to the landowner, and failure to send the certification on the said dates can lead to penalties and fines imposed by the council.
