On hearing the siren, the workforce has to leave their work immediately, and head for the exit that would take them out of hazard. Emergency sirens can indicate fire threats or natural threats like earthquakes.

Also, by working safety law standards, it is binding for most organizations to ensure that they have the full mechanism of evacuations sirens at all hazardous sites.
